Sharing Internet Connection Between your PC and Windows Mobile


The new Internet Sharing feature in Windows Mobile 6 claimed that it saves lots of hassles to share a 3G/GPRS internet connection from a PDA or mobile device running on WM6 to a laptop or computer. It's relatively easy just these steps need to be followed.

This is the step by step procedure to share Internet connection between your Windows Mobile or PDA to PC or Vice Versa.

Step 1: In your Device click on Start->Accessories-> Internet Sharing. Alternatively ( Start -> Program -> Internet Sharing )

Step2: Select "USB" for PC connection

Step 3: For the “Network Connection" select the type of Internet connection to share This could be your 3G Internet. And Click on Connect.

Step4: In your PC a new network connection will be established under Network and Sharing Center (Under Control Panel). If now Refresh the page and Enable any Disabled network connection.

Step5: If the connection is established you can connect your Windows Mobile Device or PDA and your PC and share internet between any of the two.

If it still doesn't work. Follow these tips.
·          In case if your Using Fire wall, you’ll need to turn off  your Windows Firewall or any other firewall that you are using.

·          Disable any other local area connection.

·          Disable USB connection in the connection settings of your ActiveSync.

·          You may need to disable advanced network functionality in your Windows Mobile 6. (Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC)
